COST
The COST research initiative (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) promotes co-ordination of European research, above all in basic and pre-competitive research as well as activities of public interest. COST research projects are generated at the initiative of the researchers. The Cost Switzerland website provides more information.
EUREKA
EUREKA is a Europe-wide network for industrial research and development. EUREKA has launched a new initiative called Eurostars from which SMEs can be funded directly. Funding for Swiss SMEs is also possible. The condition is that they partner with a Swiss university.
ERASMUS+
The European Commission has integrated all existing education programmes into the ERASMUS+ programme.
Since 2014, Switzerland is no longer an Erasmus+ programme country, but a partner country. The Swiss Federal Council has adopted an interim solution so that Swiss institutions can continue to participate in cooperation and mobility activities with the Erasmus+ programme countries financed with Swiss funds.ERASMUS+ also includes cooperation projects between educational institutions, authorities, social partners and youth organisations in Europe.
Support for Swiss institutions wishing to participate in ERASMUS+ is provided by the MOVETIA Foundation
